📍 About Project

💙 SMILE by The Tyler & Tyco Project is a digital platform for a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on helping children see, hear, smile, and learn with confidence. Its programs expand access to vision, dental, and hearing support while creating educational, STEM, classroom-exchange, volunteer, and community opportunities in the United States and the Dominican Republic.

I built the site in WordPress with Elementor Pro, translating a broad nonprofit mission into an approachable information architecture. Visitors can understand the organization’s story, explore each program, read impact stories, meet the founders, view community partners and media, volunteer, propose a partnership, donate, sponsor a child, or support the mission through the online shop.

The site centers the personal story behind SMILE. Founder Tyler Powell transformed his experience with vision loss and legal blindness into advocacy for children and families, while Tyco, his service dog, represents companionship, encouragement, and the heart of the mission. The visual design combines that human story with clear program pathways and prominent calls to action.

For fundraising, the site uses GiveWP to provide a structured donation journey with confirmation, failure handling, and a donor dashboard. WooCommerce powers the mission shop and sponsorship products, allowing supporters to contribute through purchases as well as direct gifts. Volunteer and partner inquiry forms route different types of support to the organization, while the content system keeps programs, impact updates, media, and community partnerships easy to manage.
